How to Dress

Diamond tools are varied and complex. There are many different types of diamond tools that behave differently both on the glass and how they operate as a tool.

With sintered diamond tools, the entire diamond surface of the tool is embedded with diamonds so as the tools is used and wears down, it can be “dressed” with an abrasive tool called a dressing stick, which is basically just a compressed brick of aluminum oxide.

While this all may sound unusual and bizarre, the techniques are really quite simple and we now have a new Learn video that covers exactly how a dressing stick works to dress, or sharpen, a used saw blade.
