Stacking wax is used to wax a scrap piece of glass to the surface of your main piece for drilling or cutting the glass. It protects the glass surfaces from additional scratches and prevents edge chipping on your main glass piece from cutting or drilling.

Is this essentially just dop wax? I watched the video you posted with this, and wondered if you had tried tossing the glass in the freezer overnight when you wanted to remove it.
Stacking wax will have a different formulation from dop wax but that's about it. Differing amounts of different types of wax for each product. Yes, you can certainly put it in the freezer to help remove the wax as it will get brittle.
