When is it better to use this product instead of Hxtal?

XTR is a thinner viscosity than HXTAL so it is better suited for crack repair and small fissures as it will wick further in and cure faster than HXTAL. It is not as versatile as HXTAL in that you cannot let it sit and thicken up for stronger joints or casting.
